Hi!

Just dropped a new version of my game demo, it includes various changes and fixes, better graphics and general art, better structured content and some new mechanics.

Art

The new demo has some changes in the art direction, using better quality of assets and lighting so it looks more cohesive.

Also using unity's 2d light system achieved some interesting colour effects for the sprites that are far away, giving a sense of depth and helping the overall look and feel of the game. 

Also tried with some sprite variants to give a depth of field effect, found creating smaller blurred versions of the sprites to be the best solution for me, and it gives a very good look to the backgrounds.

The light in the cave area was inspired by the character light in Hollow Knight, I implemented it with a 2d light masked to only light the background layers.

HUD

The interface is trying to imitate the classic comic book style but it need some work, specially in the chat and the menus. 

The new health system works with health tanks, this help you regain the health you lost once you collected enough meteor fragments.

You can find tanks spread trough out the map and collect them to have more chances of healing.

Gameplay

The update has some changes in the animation and art style of Oscar, our main character and it makes him look more agile and strong, compared to the first design that made him look more of a sturdy robot than a man on a suit.

New vs old design

This also comes with new animations for attack, run and jump.

The boss fights where tweaked and better calibrated, also the room of the dogs fight was reduced.
